Senior Capstone
The goal of my senior capstone project was to design a new thrust recovery valve for Honeywell Aerospace. Thrust recovery valves are used in jet airliners to maintain cabin pressure. This new design is intended to be mechanically simpler, and cheaper than current valves. My job on the team was to do the mechanical design, and to machine the majority of the componenets. Being responsible for producing parts that I was also in charge of designing forced me to always consider the balance between function, aesthetics, and simplicity.
